At Lights Down Productions during the coronavirus pandemic we have been keeping a light on and giving female identifying writers the opportunity to try out new work.
On Friday 21st May to celebrate one month till we're free of lockdown (fingers crossed!) we wanted to celebrate the connection and resilience we have found in this time and have programmed 10 new short plays written by amazing female identifying writers and will be presenting them on one night and also be getting our dancing shoes on and song requests in for an online disco and a post show Q&A with all creatives on board.
There are 5 monologues and 5 duologues, these are:

Lights Down Productions was set up in January 2018 by Caley Powell to produce female led new writing, particularly looking at sharing underrepresented stories. Previous productions include: 'Hear Me Howl' by Lydia Rynne (The Landor Space/The Old Red Lion Theatre/VAULT Festival 2019), The Net by Zoe Guzy-Sprague (Poplar Union/ Tristan Bates Theatre), Shards by Catherine O'Shea (Camden People's Theatre) and Tennesse Williams: Women Of Paradise (Trafalgar Studios). During the pandemic I produced Walk Of Shame by Stephanie Silver and Amelia Marshall-Lovsey (Online@TheSpaceUK) and the Light On Showcase first series where we produced 10 new plays written by and directed by women that was released weekly on Youtube between 26th May and 28th July.
