Lime Plastering: 2-Day Course
A 2-day course introducing you to lime plastering and decorative plasterwork
This two-day course delivered by McAteer Plastering will offer an in-depth hands-on introduction to working with lime plaster. You will have the opportunity to work through the solid plastering process from mixing and applying the first coat, seeing the outcome of the curing process, and applying successive coats. Participants will also try their hand at decorative plasterwork. All materials and PPE will be provided, as well as lunch, tea & coffee. No experience necessary.
This course is being delivered as part of the All Ireland Heritage Skills Programme public events series, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. These workshops aim to increase opportunities for everyone to get involved with and learn more about heritage skills.
Who should attend?
This 2-day course is suitable for anyone with an interest in working with lime plaster. It may be particularly beneficial to those working in the industry who would like to gain new practical skills for use on older buildings, or for those who would like to gain greater understanding of lime for specification on heritage projects. However, it could also be of use to building owners, those responsible for maintenance, and enthusiasts who would like to gain skills for use on their own projects. No experience is required, and you will be guided by experienced and knowledgeable craftspeople.
Date: Wednesday, 10th September 10am- 4pm and Thursday 11th September 10am- 4pm

Lunch will be served at approximately 1pm each day.
Places are limited to 10 attendees in order to maximise participant learning and safety. If you are no longer able to attend, please notify the organiser as soon as possible to allow your place to be released.
Important information for attendees:
This event is limited to a maximum of ten attendees at one time. Attendees should wear sensible footwear, and it is advised that attendees wear warm clothing/ layers and may wish to wear overalls to protect clothing, or old clothes. PPE will be provided.
