Introduction to LINO PRINT MAKING 10.30-2.30

Learn the basics of lino printing: from carving to inking to printing a lino block (A6 size) with Rachel Holborow of RK Wanderings printmaking - an experienced teacher, member of York Printmakers and York Open Studios artist.
In this 4 hour workshop you will begin by learning about the tools and materials of lino printmaking; design your own lino block bring an idea (A6 drawing, or high contrast black and white image ) of what you might like to print, or you can design one in the workshop if you prefer) and then carve it; then experiment with printing it. We will use Caligo safewash inks, which are vegetable oil based, non toxic and easy to clean up.
There will be a maximum of 4 participants and you must be over 18 to take part.
Be aware, you will use sharp tools at your own risk! (Safety tips will be covered at the beginning of the workshop and must be adhered to.)
All materials for the workshop are included in the price, and you can take home the lino block you carve and - two weeks later (once they are dry) - your prints. Your prints can be picked up from the venue, or posted to you for £3 P+P. Additionally there will be the opportunity to buy your own tools and materials on the day if you wish to take them home to develop your skills.
Total cost for this 4 hour workshop is £30 which includes workshop materials, use of equipment and tuition + tea and biscuits. Please let me know allergen requirements at least 48 hours prior to the workshop.
