Welcome to Lishkara!On Saturday 12th July join us as we celebrate the life of Panjabi folk legend: Surinder Shinda.Surinder Shinda sang numerous hit songs, including "Putt Jatta De", "Bari Kholkey", Jan Chari Amli Di", "Sucha Soorma" + Many More.Those who knew Surinder Shinda personally - friends, family and fellow musicians - will share stories that have never before been told in public. Their recollections will reveal the man behind the music: his humour, his generosity and his unwavering passion for the Panjabi folk tradition.All ages are welcome to join in this celebration. Whether you come to sing along with old favourites, to discover the roots of Punjabi folk or simply to honour a musical icon, you will find a warm, inclusive atmosphere at Lishkara. IMPORTANT NOTE: PLEASE ARRIVE AT 16:30 AS MUSIC WILL START AT 17:00. Lishkara poster and logo design by Avleen Sehmi.
