A long-standing member of Jools Holland’s Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, he has performed at major festivals, concert halls and television broadcasts across the world. As a bandleader, Derek fronts several acclaimed groups including Sax Appeal, Protect the Beat and the Derek Nash Acoustic Quartet, each showcasing different facets of his exceptional musicianship.

His career includes collaborations with an astonishing array of artists—from Eric Clapton, Amy Winehouse and Sir Paul McCartney to Jamie Cullum, Annie Lennox and Gregory Porter.
