2Code Live Lesson
Do you want to get creative and engage your learners with programming in 2Code?
In this live lesson we will be planning, designing and coding a scene using Free Code Chimp which is part of Purple Mash’s 2Code block coding tool.
This live lesson is aimed at children in years 2 – 4 who have already had some experience of coding using 2Code.
During the lesson children will be:
· Exploring the main design features and code commands in Free Code Chimp.
· Choosing a background scene and objects/characters for their scene.
· Planning and coding a simple algorithm of events and actions for the objects chosen.
· Saving and sharing their Free Code scene to a displayboard for other children to play their code scene.
To ensure success, before the lesson please make sure:
· Children can see the live lesson stream on your class screen or IWB
· Check that Teams is working (see link below)
· Children know their Purple Mash logins and are logged in ready to go prior to the lesson starting
· Children may share a device with a classmate or work individually on their own device
· (Optional: The devices children will be using have a working microphone)
This lesson will be live and aimed at 7-9 year olds (Years 2 – 4) and will be 60 minutes long.
