LIVE x EMPRes
Step into an evening of live performance, film, sound and experimentation as Oxford University’s EMPRes Collective takes over the gallery.
Inspired by Suzanne Treister: Prophetic Dreaming, LIVE x EMPRes explores the strange and shifting territory between music, art and technology. Across the building, artists, musicians and filmmakers from the University of Oxford’s Music Faculty and the Ruskin School of Art present new work spanning experimental music, sound art, film, installation and performance.
What To Expect
The evening includes a live tarot reading by Suzanne Treister, accompanied by an improvised response from the Music Faculty’s Free Improv group. New York-based interdisciplinary artistDevin Kenny will also perform a selection from No More Aggregatekeepers, a work for microphone, video synthesizer and skateboard.
Running across multiple rooms from 6–10pm, the programme features performances, screenings and installations from emerging artists including: Maliha Abidi and Saad Barcha, Naomi Benenson, Esther Bodkin, Thomas Bruges, Christopher Butler-Cole, Clara Hill, Olivia Hall, Se Lyn Lim and Moon Han, Qi Baiting, Naiya Ellis-Woodward and Scott Wearing, Mao Yao and Gustaw Szydlik.
