Lived Experience Learning Hub

Lived Experience Learning Hub

The Angelou CentreNewcastle upon Tyne, England
Thursday, Apr 23, 2026 from 12 pm to 3 pm
Overview

A care-centred, facilitated space for people with lived experience of racism to come together in community.

Join us at The Angelou Centre where we will be hosting a Lived Experience Learning Hub, under the banner of the North East Anti-Racism Coalition | (NEARC). This Lived Experience Learning Hub is an open session for individuals with lived experience of racism to come together in a brave and supportive space.

The session is designed to centre lived realities through storytelling, reflection and shared dialogue. It offers an opportunity to connect with others, explore how experiences are shaped by wider systems, and contribute to conversations that inform meaningful change.

Facilitated by Dr Nafhesa Ali (Northumbria University) on behalf of the North East Anti-Racism Coalition, the session is grounded in intersectional and community-based learning, creating space for quieter voices and collective understanding.

What to expect:

  • A welcoming and non-judgmental space
  • Opportunities to share and reflect on lived experiences
  • Connection with others across the North East
  • Space for listening, dialogue and mutual understanding
  • A focus on building collective insight and hope

Participants will also be invited to join a collective session in May.

A light lunch will be provided at 12pm, with the session starting promptly at 12.30pm.
