If you're a Westminster resident who is passionate about improving their local area, join us on Wednesday,10 Jan 2024 at 11am-1pm or 3-5pm

Are you<ul><li>A Westminster resident?</li><li>Passionate about improving your local area?</li><li>Able to spare some time to attend evening meetings in a local venue?</li></ul>Why not join your local area panel, as part of the Community Priorities Programme.You would work alongside other residents, local councillors, representatives from voluntary and community organisations, council officers, community and health champions to help identify local community priorities and decide on which projects are funded to deliver services that meet these priorities and make a real difference in your area. What would I do?<ul><li>Work alongside other panel members to provide feedback on how we design our our consultations</li><li>Share your ideas on how we can improve on engagement events for the programme</li><li>Commission local service providers to deliver projects and improve outcomes for residents</li><li>Assess funding applications from local providers through a scoring process</li></ul> What skills do I need to have?<ul><li>Be able to work as part of a team</li><li>Be able to think creatively and put forward ideas</li><li>Be able to understand and analyse information (or be willing to learn how)</li><li>Be able to maintain confidentiality</li></ul> What can I gain from being a panel member?The training, support and experience you receive can help you develop skills for your personal and career development by;<ul><li>Build confidence</li><li>Improve communication skills</li><li>Gain new knowledge or keep up-to-date with new laws around data protection, confidentiality</li><li>Improve decision-making, reasoning and problem-solving skills</li></ul> Please note: we will be holding two seperate sessions on the same day.
