Local Development Plan 2 and Stewarton Development Framework Q & A session

East Ayrshire Council has prepared its  Local Development Plan 2 (LDP2) and has begun public consultation on this document.

Stewarton Area Centre

This is a plan which looks at the whole area and outlines whether or not specific areas are suitable for future development, what types of development they are suitable for, and how this will affect the future environment, infrastructure and economic wellbeing of these areas. 

LDP2, brings together a range of policies and proposals on sustainability, place and environment, economy and employment, transport and infrastructure and energy and resources.

One of those proposals is the Stewarton Development Framework which will go out to consultation from 23 May to 22 July 2022. It gives every resident, business and organisation to have an input into the future of development and planning decisions in the area.

To accompany this consultation we have planned two bookable drop-in events at Stewarton Area Centre:

•	13 June 2022 from 6.00pm until 8.00pm
•	22 June from 3.00pm until 7.00pm. 

You can book a 15 minutes slot to discuss the Plan and Strategy with the Local Plan team. Please note, due to the room size, a maximum of two people can attend one booked slot. Times will be strictly observed. Only one slot should be booked per person across both events so that as many people are able to take part as possible. 

Should you require to bring more than 2 people due to childcare issues or have accessibility issues please let us know in advance and we will do our upmost to accommodate your requirements.
