Welcome to the London Art Class - Line & Scribble series! Join us for a fun and creative workshop where you can unleash your inner artist. This in-person event is held on Friday evenings in Summer at the Waterloo Action Centre. Get ready to explore different techniques and immerse yourself in some incredible still lifes. No experience necessary. Fun, relaxed and friendly, the perfect way to end the working week.

All materials provided (professional standard graphite pencil range, various ink pens, charcoal pencils, watercolour pencils, chalks, many different papers, card, collage materials). Please note we do not use paints.

Your teacher will guide you through materials and setup before diving into a brief warm-up session. Beginners can enjoy a tailored tutorial if they wish, then everyone is free to explore the various still lifes and collage table, experimenting with different techniques.

Please note that the venue is up a steep set of outside steps and there is no lift access.

Frequently asked questions

I can't draw - will I have fun?

Yes! From beginners to professional artists everyone can develop their creativity at a 'Line and Scribble' class. There will be a beginners tutorial at the start if you wish to get some pointers. We won't make everyone display their work at the end so there is no pressure to produce a masterpiece.

I am a professional artist - will I benefit from attending?

If you enjoy being in a creative environment, experimenting with different styles and engaging with inspiring still life's you will enjoy the sessions. You can choose if you want to take part in the warm up sessions or just dive straight in!

Is every class different?

Yes, the still lifes will be different every week, as will some of equipment. There will also be different techniques taught.

Where are the classes?

In the Waterloo Action Centre, a 5 min walk from Waterloo Station. 14 Baylis Rd, London SE1 7AA. Access to the studio is up a steep flight of external stairs, unfortunately there is no lift access.

What time do the classes run?

Arrival from 6.30pm, class starts at 6.45pm and ends at 8.30pm.

Is a still life not just a bowl of fruit?

Not when we do them! Inspirational, whimsical, big and varied. There will be multiple set up for you to move around.
