Event description

Description

A fantastic opportunity for community groups wanting to create or improve a Community Orchard!

As part of National Tree Week, The Orchard Project is teaming up with the Mayor of London to run a Community Orchard Summit and Microfunder.

Come along to enjoy workshops on Orchard Wildlife and Forest Gardening, meet and be inspired by other like-minded groups from across London, plus a free buffet lunch and cider tasting with Ian White of Campaign for Real Ale!

Up to 20 groups can also pitch to each win £400 for their orchard and some free fruit trees!

Each group presents their idea for funding to the audience (max 4 mins) -- for example to run a workshop, buy some tools, hold a community event -- and then the audience vote for the ones they like best. You can win up to £400. Bring a team of supporters for a better chance!

If your group does want to pitch you must register by emailing stephanie@theorchardproject.org.uk.

This event is supported by the Mayor of London as part of the Mayor's National Tree Week 2019 planting programme.
