Celebrating the National Mikey Powell Memorial Family Fund, the screening of Ultraviolence, hosts a Q&A session and live entertainment.
About this event
This event will mark the 18th anniversary of the death of Mikey Powell in West Midlands police custody, and will celebrate 5 years of the National Mikey Powell Memorial Family Fund developed by his cousin, Tippa Naphtali, in September 2015.
PLEASE NOTE: Pay on the door if you've missed the pre-booking deadline!
We'll be screening Migrant Media's new film ULTRAVIOLENCE, (part of the 10 Cities Tour) and there will be a panel Q&A on issues raised in the film with a view to moving forward positively on issues of contention between the community, police and other statutory agencies.
This event is delivered in association with 4WardEverUK and Migrant Media, and is supported by Catalyst 4 Change CIC and Birmingham Irish Association.

The National Mikey Powell Memorial Family Fund is the first permanent national resource of its kind specifically for those that are affected by deaths in custody.
We make small grants available for families and their campaign groups across the United Kingdom to provide practical domestic assistance, to further the work of their own campaigns or to assist them in engaging in a range of other local, regional or national campaigns, events and initiatives.
