Struggling to find the right supervisor? Join us online to connect and get expert guidance!
Finding the right supervisor for your therapeutic and clinical practice can be challenging. While directories containing names, photographs, qualifications and professional biographies are helpful, they do not always translate into knowing whether you will feel comfortable, understood and able to develop within a supervisory relationship.
Meet the Supervisors has been designed to make this process more personal and relational.
The event provides an opportunity to meet a range of supervisors, hear directly about how they work, understand their therapeutic and supervisory approaches, and gain a sense of who may be the right fit for you and your clinical practice.
Each supervisor will introduce themselves and share an overview of their professional background, areas of practice, therapeutic approach and the way they work within supervision. You will then have the opportunity to ask questions, explore what is important to you in supervision and learn more about the different approaches available.
Research increasingly highlights the importance of the supervisory alliance within effective clinical supervision. A strong supervisory relationship — characterised by trust, collaboration, shared goals and the ability to openly discuss clinical work — has been associated with greater supervisee satisfaction, professional development, self-efficacy and confidence in clinical practice.
Supervision is therefore more than finding someone with the right qualifications or experience. Finding a supervisor whose approach, values and way of working feel right for you can create a space where you feel able to reflect honestly, develop your clinical skills, work through uncertainty and grow in confidence as a practitioner.
Following the event, attendees will receive access to a directory of participating supervisors, including their contact information, supervision fees and relevant practice information, allowing you to contact supervisors directly if you would like to explore working together.
The aim is simple: to make finding a supervisor feel less like choosing a name from a directory and more like finding the right professional relationship to support your practice.
