Shedding light and celebrating the legacy of jazz composers with additional needs

MahaDevi Yoga Centre

Everyone has a creative spark within that just needs to be given the chance to shine. This does not exclude individuals with additional needs. For many centuries the world have witnessed the birth of many geniuses who had additional needs and yet were pioneers and creators of some the most extraordinary and influential pieces of art, music, architecture, literature, poetry, science, philosophy and much more. Looking up is jazz concert, a collaboration between MahaDevi, Roberta Sumar Yoga Centre and Stanza Da Tre. In this event we seek to shed light on the incredible legacy of jazz composers with additional needs. The event will take place at MahaDevi Centre. Doors open 6:30pm Music starts 7:30pm. There will be drinks and food on offer and plenty of time to chat and connect as well as enjoy some beautiful live music pieces delivered by the fantastic Stanza Da Tre. Stanza Da Tre is a jazz trio that started concentrating on Italian canzoni and developed a versatile repertoire including various genres, languages and original compositions. Their themed concerts include: crossing continents, songs of resistance and women composers. Voice (Maddalena Ghezzi), piano (Ed Blunt) and double bass (Thodoris Ziarkas)MahaDevi, Roberta Sumar Yoga Centre is the only yoga centre charity in UK that offers the pioneering yoga methodology Yoga for the Special Child - Sonia Sumar Method which was specifically developed for children and young adults with special needs over 47 years ago by Sonia Sumar, an internationally renowned yoga teacher. At MahaDevi we believe that no label should predetermine an individual's capacity for growth development and achievement in life.
