Overview

“Love Swinton” will be a one-day, Valentine’s-themed community fun day designed to bring residents together through creativity. The event will celebrate Swinton’s creative spirit by hosting 5 crative workshops celebrating Swinton's history and community, run by local artists, while giving residents of all ages opportunities to try new activities in a welcoming environment.

This project responds directly to local feedback gathered through community interviews, which highlighted a strong desire for:

  • Affordable, creative activities for children, teens and adults
  • Events that foster pride and connection within the Swinton community.

Aims

  • To celebrate Swinton’s creativity and community spirit.
  • To provide a free or affordable day of fun for families, children, and young people.

Target Audience

  • Families with children (ages 4–12)
  • Teenagers and young people
  • Adults interested in arts and community events
  • Local artists, makers, and creative groups
