We're relaunching the Young Cooperators Network with an online Lunch & Learn series, an informal meetup for those curious about co-ops!

With the rise of the neoliberal university, more students than ever are leaving with five-figure debt – and a significant chunk of this stems from housing costs.Tired of greedy landlords and poorly managed housing, Sim Wadiwala was a student who decided to give up on the private rented sector all together and set up a student housing coop – moving from private ownership and rented through landlords / estate agents to being owned by the local community and democratically managed by its tenantsA decade in the making, Brighton’s student housing coop is taking its first intake this September and will house seven students, with a second house on its way.
