This will be available all morning, however the celebrations really start once we've all finished the run. Re-fuel - burgers and drinks being served at our on-site canteen all morning.

Machynlleth Colour Run 2024!!

Get ready for a blast of colour and a whole lot of fun at the Machynlleth Colour Run 2024! After the incredible success of last year's event (we sold out of spaces!), we're thrilled to bring it back for another round of Carnival fun!

Whether you watch or take part, you're in for plenty of fun! Breakfast baps, lunch and drinks will be available on the premises to keep you all fuelled and hydrated.


Date: 23rd June 2024

Time: Sign-on begins at 9:00 am, all must be signed on by 10:30 am, Run starts at 11 am.

About the Event:

Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun day out, the Machynlleth Colour Run is for everyone! Come join us as we kick off the Carnival season with one of your favourite events.


Who is the event for?

  • Families
  • Competitive Runners, Joggers, Walkers and Moonwalkers
  • Groups - join in with your rugby/ netball/ football/ pool team
  • Friend groups


For Runners:

  • Please come dressed in appropriate footwear and a white T-shirt.
  • Stay hydrated and be prepared for all weather types (sun cream, hats etc)
  • Get creative and wear goggles or glasses to protect your eyes.
  • Under 14 must have an adult on-site throughout the event to take part.
  • Sign-on starts at 9:30 am
  • All runners must sign a waiver to take part, this will be checked on sign-on.
  • Warm-up begins at 10:30 am at the Football grounds.
  • Pay attention to signage instructions around the fields.
  • The 5K course will take you through various scenic routes, including hurricanes, rugby and football pitches, and the Plas grounds. Marshalls will be there to guide you if you need any help.
  • Stay tuned for the upload of the course map closer to the event date.
  • First aiders will be present throughout the event for any assistance needed.
  • Your participation helps support Machynlleth Carnival, ensuring it continues to run as we all love it.


For Spectators:

Even if you're not running, you can still join in the fun! Spectators are encouraged to come along and throw colour. Bags of colour will be available for purchase at the football grounds.

  • Please only throw colour within designated areas (refer to signage) and avoid aiming at participants' or spectators' faces.
  • Please do not block the route at any point.


Parking:

  • Parking is available at the Plas and opposite the Rugby Club (Maengwyn car park).
  • Please do not block any parts of the route.

By signing up to take part in this event, or on behalf of a minor, you agree to accept our Terms and Conditions.

Terms and Conditions/ Waiver agreement.

By purchasing a ticket on your own behalf or for a minor, you agree to the following.


1. I understand that participating in the colour run is a potentially hazardous activity where I will be required to run a set distance and powdered colour will be thrown at the event.

2. Whilst Machynlleth & District Carnival takes care to make the event as safe as possible, they cannot remove risks and dangers to participants and observers. Accordingly, I participate at my own risk.

3. I agree to follow the signage and to avoid of any risks highlighted by the carnival committee, and to also remain vigilant of any other risk factors that could result in injury of myself or others.

4. I agree not to participate unless I am medically and physically able and that it is my responsibility to decide whether myself and any child for whom I am responsible, is medically and physically able and I accept responsibility to speak to a doctor before taking part in the event if I have any pre existing conditions or concerns.

5. I assume all risks associated with competing in the colour run, including but not limited to

- Slips, trips and falls or contact with any other participants or spectators

- Breaks, strains or pulled muscles

- Negligent or wanton actions of other participants

- Any defects or condition of premises or colour zones

- The effects of the whether including heat, high heat, humidity, cold temperatures, wind, rain, ice, floods, and any type of storm.

6. I agree that Machynlleth & District Carnival are not responsible for any personal items or property that are lost, stolen, stained or damaged at, after or during the event.

7. I consent to emergency medical care and transportation in order to obtain treatment in the event of injury to me as medical professionals may deem appropriate.

8. I understand and agree that pets are not permitted unless they are guide dogs to accompany me in the race.

9. I understand that I will be taking part on Machynlleth Football Club, and Y Plas grounds, and that they cannot accept any responsibility of the risks associated with competing in the colour run.

10. I grant permission for Machynlleth & District Carnival to take photos of me and or my child/ on behalf of anyone I sign for any purpose but not limited to social media and local press.

11. I understand that whilst the colour powder is rated as non-toxic/ non-hazardous, participants are required to wear goggles/ glasses to protect their eyes from powdered paint.

Colour supplied by: Kingdom of colours, ingredients available on request or via their website.

12. I understand that I must declare any medical conditions, especially those concerning but not excluding: respiratory conditions, allergies (please check colour ingredients and speak to canteen staff) and heart conditions

13. I also understand that if I am 14 or under I require an adult (18+) to accompany me during the race. (1 over 18 per 4 children)

14. I understand that all under 14s must be supervised by an adult throughout the entire event, the organisers and volunteers are not responsible for their safety before, during or after the event.

15. I understand that in the case of bad weather the event may be cancelled at short notice and re-arranged for a new date.

16. I understand that failure to sign on and to agree to a waiver will result in not being permitted to take part in the event

17. I understand that I or those in my care may be running near a road, and that I must take care whilst doing so.

18. I understand that I must warm up and cool down – and to take responsibility whilst doing so.

19. I understand that during the colour run, or whilst within Machynlleth Football Club/ Y plas grounds I must not litter, smoke or own any ignitable or ignited substances.
