The Literature and Science Hub at the University of Liverpool is a centre for research, teaching and public debate about the relationships between those two traditionally opposed spheres of knowledge, the arts and the sciences.

Join curators and writers in the gallery all week from 11th-17th of June at Tate Exchange to find out more about the art and science of sustainable energy production.
Creative activities and workshops for adults and children will run between 11-1pm and 3-5pm, in which we will uncover energy anxieties and explore past, present and future energies. Drop in anytime to discover the latest research, enjoy the work of artists such as Martin Rowson and Simon Logan, and join in the debate about humanity's relationship with energy.

Tuesday 12th June: 11am-1pm and 3pm-5pm 
 
Past, Present and Future Energies
Thursday 14th June: 11am-1pm and 3pm-5pm
Saturday 16th June: 11am-1pm* and 3pm-5pm
Sunday 17th June: 11am-1pm 
 
*This workshop is particularly suitable for young children 
 
Booking is not essential; Drop-ins permitted throughout the week.
 
 
Made from Light at Tate Exchange
Renewable energy is considered to be a recent technological development, but in fact it has a long history. For centuries the possibility of harnessing the power of the sun has inspired scientists, engineers, writers and artists alike. The future of energy production and our environment will not only be shaped by science and technology: the arts and humanities also have a role to play in influencing our behaviour and imagination. Tate Exchange invites you to be part of that creative conversation, with a week-long programme on the art, science and history of renewable energy curated by researchers from the University of Liverpool.
