About this event

Join us for a workshop inspired by the wonderfully varied history of printed music!

From medieval manuscripts to penny broadside ballads, via madrigals, American shapenote, folk and more, you'll learn some Madrigirls favourites, led by conductor Katy Lavinia Cooper, before exploring fun and easy printing techniques to create a unique piece of art - inspired by the songs we've sung and guided by Rhian Nicholas of thepassengerpress.com

No experience necessary, all materials & tea and coffee provided!

This workshop is not specifically designed for children, although all ages are welcome. Under 18s should be accompanied by an adult.

Glasgow Madrigirls

Madrigirls is an a cappella upper voice vocal group based at Glasgow University. The group is made up of around 30 students, graduates and friends of the university, and performs in Glasgow and around Scotland throughout the year. Our main event each year is our annual Advent Carol Concert in the university's chapel. We have recorded 4 CDs and run regular workshops for people of all ages and singing abilities.
