The abseil is open to everyone, no previous experience necessary (over 14 years only, weight limit of 18 stone, unfortunately you cannot take part in the abseil if you are pregnant). You will be given a Maggie's t-shirt to wear on the day if you wish.

Registration details and timings

After you have registered, you will be asked to pick your arrival time from those available. Your arrival time will be 15 minutes before the allotted booking time.

The whole abseil experience will take 1-1.5hours from your arrival time.

Registration fee: £25pp

Fundraising target: £350

We ask all participants to raise money to support people with cancer and their loved ones at Maggie’s in Southampton. This can be done via cheque, cash or creating a page on JustGiving.

* Please note the abseil can only go ahead if the weather permits. The abseil can go ahead with light wind and rain but will need to be cancelled if the weather conditions aren't suitable.

In the event that a participant has not fundraised £200 for the charity abseil 48 hours prior to the event, the organisers reserve the right to reallocate their place to another participant who has successfully met the fundraising target. Maggie’s are committed to ensuring the success of the fundraising campaign and the responsible use of charity funds when buying event places.

Organized by

Maggie’s provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends, following the ideas about cancer care originally laid out by Maggie Keswick Jencks.

Built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals, Maggie's centres are places with professional staff on hand to offer the support people need.

Our centres are places to find practical advice about benefits and eating well; places where qualified experts provide emotional support; places to meet other people; places where you can simply sit quietly with a cup of tea.

The first Maggie’s opened in Edinburgh in 1996 and since then Maggie’s has continued to grow, with 26 centres at major NHS cancer hospitals in the UK and abroad.
