It supports team selection and team integration, and it offers a fresh approach to legal and cultural issues that can otherwise reduce efficiency and waste valuable resources…” (Collaborative Construction Procurement and Improved Value, by David Mosey, 2019, Wiley Blackwell).

Collaborative and alliancing procurement approaches have been widely demonstrated to deliver better project outcomes in the built environment, yet their widespread uptake remains slow. Approaches such as Insurance Backed Alliancing, Framework Alliancing Contracts, 2 stage open book etc. have been show to deliver better outcomes for owners and their supply chain partners. This virtual roundtable hosted jointly with the European Construction Institute and Constructing Excellence aims to bring together owners, supply chain partners and experts in collaborative procurement to understand how these approaches can be successfully applied in the engineering construction sector.
