Make a Bedside/Occasional Table

Make a Bedside/Occasional Table

Overview

Make an attractive bedside table for your home

Day class for beginners

Constructed using reclaimed scaffold boards. As M&S say these aren’t ordinary scaffold boards, these are GBW scaffold boards. At nearly twice as thick as regular boards these extra thick boards bring with them a look of solid distinction with a distressed and vintage patina for an authentic old world charm.

Finished with wood dye at the workshop on the day and ready to take home.

In this class you will learn and carry out the following skills:

Marking and measuring
Cutting the pieces
Using the Thickness Planer to create accurate dimensions
Distressing the components
Use the Router and the saw to create mortise and tenon joints to join the components together
Glue, assemble and clamp the table
Sanding and further distressing to your taste
Preparing the Dye and applying to the project

By booking this course, you are agreeing to our terms and conditions.

General information for your visit.

Please wear clothes suitable for dusty work, sensible shoes and bring your own lunch. Please wear warm clothes in the winter. The workshop can feel very cold due to the concrete floors in the building. There is a local shop nearby if you wish to buy lunch or you can bring a packed lunch with you. Tea and coffee is provided throughout the day.
