Sam, your friendly instructor will guide you through the process, providing step-by-step instructions and helpful tips. You'll leave with a unique, personalized bear that holds sentimental value and serves as a treasured reminder of precious moments.

Skill Level

Advanced beginner to intermediate. You must be able to thread & operate a sewing machine to participate in this workshop & have some experiance of sewing a few basic projects. See my beginners workshops if you would like to gain the necessary experience.

What You Will Learn

How to accurately cut & sew the bear

How to stabilise the fabric

How to attach the eyes & nose

How to sew jointed arms & legs in order for them to move

What You Need To Bring

5 different fabrics - around 1/4 metre of each

(Alternatively the bear can be made from just one garment if you prefer, such as a shirt)

Matching thread

4 small buttons for the joints

Ribbon (optional) approx 50cm

Lightweight iron on interfacing

Machines & all sewing equipment that you need is provided, however, please feel free to bring your own machine if you prefer, please ensure that you remember to bring all the cables & pedal!

I will provide the eyes, nose & stuffing for the bear

The finished bear stands at around 40cm tall, you will be provided with your own copy of the pattern & instructions, should you wish to make another one at home. The bear is not intended to be a toy & will, therefore be unsuitable for very young children.

Please Note

The studio is accessed by stairs & the toilets are downstairs. There is ample free parking directly outside the studio. Refreshmants are available for a nominal cost.

The class will run from 9.30am-4.30pm. While I try to calculate how long a workshop will take, occasionally, due to unforseen circumstances, this may not be possible. However, please be assured that should this happen you will be provided with enough information & confidence, in order to complete the bear at home.

Refund Policy

Payment in full is required at the time of booking to secure your place. If you find that you can't attend 7 days or more before the start of your class you will receive a full refund, less the EventBrite fees.Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for cancellations with less than 1 weeks notice.
