Make a Round basket workshop

Spend a day weaving English willow into your own, unique basket at the lovely Shrewsbury House.

In this special, one day workshop you'll make a round basket but what kind of round basket is up to you. Will you make a traditional shopper perhaps? Or a kindling basket?

To begin you'll choose from a selection of bases made by me in advance..different colours and sizes that will be the foundation of your basket.

Then you'll learn to upsett and how to choose willow for your uprights.

Next we'll move on to side weaves, exploring wales and rands.

A light and delicious lunch is included in the ticket price and while we eat homecooked food from Emma at the Garden Cafè, we'll be planning our individual borders and handle types.

The afternoon we'll spend putting those plans into action to finish our baskets and then photograph them and admire each others handiwork!

Numbers are very limited for this workshop because I want plenty of time with each person.
