Our Silver Spinner Ring Workshop offers an opportunity for students, including beginners, to learn traditional silver-smithing techniques. During the workshop, participants will create a sterling silver spinner/spinning ring from scratch. From sizing and shaping to soldering and polishing, our experienced instructor will guide you through each step.

In addition to gaining your new skills, you will also take home your beautifully crafted ring in a stylish gift box.

Refreshments including tea and coffee and snacks will be provided.

A short health and safety introduction will be given prior to the beginning the workshop. We ask you to wear closed toe shoes and to tie back long hair.

The class will be held in our beautiful Bristol workshop and the maximum class size is 6. An email with essential details including how to find us will be sent to you after purchase.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have disabled access

Disabled people are welcome but please do get in touch separately so we can make sure we can accommodate you accordingly. A separate booking may need to be made but don’t worry you will not be penalised on price.

Do you have parking?

There is no parking on the Filwood House site but you can park in any of the roads surrounding. There is a free car park on Beechwood road in Fishponds which is about ten minutes walk away.

What if I come by bicycle?

I am happy for you to store your bicycle inside the building, If you could let me know if you will be doing this so I can make sure there is room.

Will I get to keep what I make?

Yes you will get a pouch or box to bring your lovely new jewellery that you have handcrafted home.

Will there be refreshments?

yes, you will each get a bottle of water and there will be as much tea and coffee and snacks as you like. Please do let us know any dietary requirements.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code other than making sure you don't have any loose items which may get caught on the polishing wheel. This applies to long hair too so please bring a hair tie if you need one. You will be provided with an apron and we ask that you wear closed toe shoes.
