Making an Impact

About this event

This session will be led by Sam Brown who has a long history of working with start-ups and local organisations helping them establish their purpose, corresponding programmes and communication strategies.

Social impact is the positive change that your organisation has created over a period of time. These changes may be social, financial , environmental or other. Community groups and CMLs need to put positive social impact at the heart of everything and be able to identify, capture and communicate the impact of their activities.

Knowing how to measure and communicate your impact is important for marketing, winning new contracts, grants, customers and more. Understanding and measuring your impact also helps you to know if you are meeting or on track to meeting your priorities and your mission.

Sam will provide some useful and practical insights including simple tools/approaches to help you understand, measure and communicate your impact.

This course is generously supported by the Archibald Corbett Community Library through its Public Space Management Course.

We are a network of peers from the full spectrum of community managed libraries, from independently funded libraries to those who receive local authority support. Our primary members are trustees or people who work in community managed libraries, but also includes those wishing to form a trust or community groups exploring the possibilities of community managed libraries. We welcome membership from those who liaise with and support community managed libraries within council library services and organisations or individuals who are involved in supporting community managed libraries in other capacities.
