An online panel discussion exploring the vital and fascinating link between art, technology &amp; science. Followed by Q&A.

We bring together some of the world's leading art and tech professionals from Israel and the UK, whose practice intersects art, technology and science. With a focus on how their artistic work is inspired and influenced by tech and science, we will discuss how in an ever-changing world, never has the need for an innovative and collaborative approach to solve society's most pressing needs, and answer the most urgent questions for our future, been more vital. Panellists: LIOR ZALMANSON: A writer, new media artist, curator, and researcher. He is currently an Assistant Professor at Tel Aviv University. His works focus on digital culture, online behaviour, and information society. In 2011, he founded Print Screen Festival, Israel’s digital arts festival, which explores themes of digital culture in the audio-visual arts. LIAT SEGAL: A contemporary media artist, fusing together art and technology. Segal observes existence in an age of Big Data by materializing the digital, through the use of software, electronics, mechanics and information. Liat has won multiple awards for her work and recent exhibition locations include The Israel Museum (Jerusalem, Israel), Rothko Center (Daugavpils, Latvia), Bundeskunsthalle Museum (Bonn, Germany) and the Gwangju Cultural Foundation (South Korea) ANNA DUMITRIU: a British artist who works with BioArt, sculpture, installation, and digital media to explore our relationship to infectious diseases, synthetic biology and robotics. She has exhibited her work at venues such as The V&A Musuem and Ars Electronica and has presented talks on her work at venues including Tate Modern and the University of Oxford. She was the 2018 President of the Science and the Arts section of the British Science Association. Her work is held in several major public collections, including the Science Museum London and Eden Project.Moderated by:PROFESSOR FRANK FINLAY - Executive Dean, Faculty of Arts Humanities &amp; Cultures/ Director, Cultural Institute- University of LeedsAt Leeds University he is the former Head of the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, Dean of the Faculty of Arts (2009-2016), and was appointed the founding Executive Dean of the new Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures in August 2016, the largest of its kind in the UK. He leads for the University on engagement with external partners in the creative and cultural sector and established a new Cultural Institute in 2016, which he directs.
