Making Comics

Making Comics

Overview

Make a comic strip about Dundee!

Do you have a fun story to tell about living in Dundee, or about any aspect of Dundee’s history and culture? Have you ever thought about turning your story into a comic? This workshop is for children and young people (8-14 years of age) and will teach you how to create a short comic strip about Dundee. You can take your artwork away with you at the end of the event, but if you wish, you can also have your artwork featured in a comic, Dundee Tales, to be published in 2027. Come learn how to turn your story into a comic strip! This event will be held in The Little Theatre and is open to the public. It will be delivered by PhD student Jinglin Shi (University of Dundee) and Comics Youth SCIO. Materials (drawing paper, pens, etc) will be provided. Parents can drop off children or stay during the event. If dropping off a contact number must be provided and children should be collected at the end of the event.

This event is part of Being Human Festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, taking place 5-14th November 2026. Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
