Join us for an interactive workshop combining meditation, mindfulness and stitching!

Join <a href="https://www.michellegreenhouse.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Michelle Greenhouse</a> for this interactive class and learn about meditation, mindfulness and stitching!We start out with a mindful meditation and then take that concept into stitching. Each stitch will represent our breath, mantra or an intention. We will incorporate mindfulness.How does mindfulness relate to stitching? It is stitching that has intention. Stitching with intention is called Sashiko. This is the description for the stitches used in Boro fabrics.In this class Michelle will teach her stylised method of Boro stitching with mindfulness. In essence we will be meditative stitching. We will be using upcycled fabrics that you have on hand.

When registering we'll send you the kit list so you will have time to gather everything ahead of the session. Although we really hope you can make this event live and in person (via video call) to get the full benefit of the session, we do understand that often things happen that are out of our control, so worry not, this event will be recorded and if you've signed up you will receive a link to the recording in the days following.

<h3>A little about Michelle : </h3>Michelle Greenhouse loves textiles, Eastern philosophy and holistic health. She is a yogi and aspires to meditate and eat clean every day. She teaches classes inspired by Japanese Boro + Sustainability-utilising upcycled fabrics. Her goal is to repurpose the fabrics that she has on hand and create new Boro inspired fabrics by collaging and stitching together with sashiko stitching. Her work has been called chaotic and mindful. It is chaotic in the sense that there are several patterned fabric pieces overlaying other fabric, yet it is balanced by the mindful rhythmic rows of sashiko stitching. Michelle has an endless desire to learn, explore and grow. She wants to inspire people to use what they have and make something new. <h3>"All fabric has a story and just needs a storyteller." </h3>

That's terrible, but Christmas jumpers can bring such fun and joy. There has to be a way to retain the fun in fashion, while doing better for our planet and the people involved in making our clothes-right?!This year, we expect Christmas and the festive season to be quite different to usual. We won't mention 'that holiday that begins with C ' again, but needless to say office parties will probably move online and there won't be as many in person get togethers. We also strongly believe that, as we draw this year to a close, we could all use a good excuse to enjoy ourselves, reflect and reset. We really hope that, along with highlighting the best of eco &amp; ethical styling at Christmas, our week of events will leave you inspired and empowered.
