Overview

This workshop shows how manure and other farm by-products can become valuable resources that strengthen both profitability and resilience.

We’ll look at practical opportunities such as producing biochar, generating biogas and creating animal feed that can unlock new income streams while improving overall farm efficiency. Designed to be straightforward and applicable on the ground, this session highlights simple steps that help you get more from what your farm already produces.

Workshop lead by Andrew Sincock – Agriton

Guest speaker: Mike Roberts – Blable Farm

Mike, Alison and Sam Roberts run a Stabiliser suckler herd on 500 acres near Wadebridge. They aim to finish more cattle on-farm, with grassland rejuvenated with herbal leys and rotational grazing to reduce inputs. Although most cattle are outwintered, some are housed on greenwaste compost; this is then spread on fields to improve soil organic matter and fertility.
