Description
Man-made Structures in the North Sea: Building the Evidence-base
In 2012, studies led by Oil & Gas UK concluded that insufficient evidence existed to support a debate around how man-made structures influence the North Sea ecosystem. This led to the creation of the INSITE Programme, established under a unique governance model designed to provide independent science to inform that debate. In 2015 and 2016 NERC established further research into decommissioning under their five-year Innovation Programme in Oil and Gas.
This symposium provides the opportunity for interested stakeholders to learn about the progress of these two initiatives and how they are contributing to this important area of marine science.
