This workshops aims to build something new, a new way of working beyond project management.
The project model does not work well for software development. The project model is challenged by Agile software development. The project model collapses completely when team adopt continuous delivery. But many organizations are constrained by the project model.
So what is the alternative?
In the last three years Allan Kelly has toured Europe with his #NoProjects critique of the project model. This workshop will expand on that critique and set out and alternative an model for managing software development.
This workshop makes extensive us of exercises and group discussion to demonstrate the concepts of the post-projects Beyond Projects Model.

What does it cover?
Attendees will learn:
- Why the project model is difficult to operate with software development and especially agile software development,
- Understand the Beyond Projects model
- How return on investment should be calculated and visualise the cost of delay
- Why the project model constrains ROI and imposes additional costs of delay
- How smaller batch sizes and valuation are used to manage work without projects
- The minimal viable team model and team lifecycle model, plus work streams, stable teams, business interaction and success criteria

Who is running it?
Allan Kelly has created this course and will deliver it on the day. As well as being one of the founders of the #NoProjects movement he is the author of three books, "Xanpan: Team centric agile software development", "Business Patterns for Software Developer" and "Changing Software Development", he holds BSc and MBA degrees and is a regular conference speaker.
This course is being offered by Software Strategy Ltd. Allan Kelly's tradiing company.

About Tickets and pricing
This is the first delver of this workshop and is offered at an affordable price to encourage experimentation. Subsequent runs of this workshop will be at significantly higher prices.
Four ticket classes are being offered with capacity limits on each category:
- Economy tickets are not transferable and are not refundable should the named holder not be able to attend.
- Transferable tickets may be transferred to another named individual up to 24 hours in advance; these are not refundable.
- Flexible tickets may be transferred to another named individual or refunded provided notice is given at least 24 hours in advance
- Flexible (Late booking) tickets are similar to flexible tickets above
