Good decision making when managing changes to the historic environment ensures positive outcomes for the people of Scotland.These two identical online workshops are an opportunity for you to give feedback on our <a href="https://www.historicenvironment.scot/advice-and-support/planning-and-guidance/legislation-and-guidance/managing-change-in-the-historic-environment-guidance-notes/" title="https://www.historicenvironment.scot/advice-and-support/planning-and-guidance/legislation-and-guidance/managing-change-in-the-historic-environment-guidance-notes/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Managing Change guidance series</a> to ensure it is a valuable tool to support decision making. These workshops will be held on Microsoft Teams.The workshops will allow you to give feedback on your current use of Managing Change guidance and will include break-out groups on 5 topics. These are:1. Retrofit2. Accessibility3. Landscape4. Agriculture5. Conservation AreasYour feedback will inform which topics we prioritise for new guidance and updates.Please only sign up for one workshop as they will both follow the same structure. When signing up please nominate 2-3 topics you would like to focus on in the break-out groups.The workshops are part of a broader engagement currently being undertaken. This includes staff from local authorities, key agencies and professional bodies. <h3>Background on Managing Change</h3><a href="https://www.historicenvironment.scot/archives-and-research/publications/?publication_type=37" title="https://www.historicenvironment.scot/archives-and-research/publications/?publication_type=37" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Managing Change in the Historic Environment guidance series</a> sets out the key things to think about when changes to the historic environment are proposed. This can include:· guidance on how to consider impacts on cultural significance· relevant national policy considerations· sources of more detailed information and technical guidanceManaging Change can have weight in any decision where the <a href="https://www.historicenvironment.scot/advice-and-support/planning-and-guidance/historic-environment-policy-for-scotland-heps/" title="https://www.historicenvironment.scot/advice-and-support/planning-and-guidance/historic-environment-policy-for-scotland-heps/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Historic Environment Policy for Scotland</a> (HEPS) is relevant. This can include decision on funding, plans and policies.The guidance series forms part of national guidance on managing change in the historic environment. The <a href="https://www.gov.scot/publications/national-planning-framework-4/" title="https://www.gov.scot/publications/national-planning-framework-4/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">National Planning Framework </a>(NPF4) refers decision makers to this guidance, and it is a material consideration for relevant decisions in the Scottish planning system. <h3>Number of tickets</h3>Maximum 50 per session
