Course overview

UK equality and discrimination laws provide special protections for those who have a disability. Awards of compensation for disability discrimination are uncapped and claims can be costly – both financially and in terms of reputation. This course provides a comprehensive overview of the responsibilities and considerations relevant when managing staff with a mental or physical disability.

Who should attend

This course will be useful to anyone involved in managing people including

those with HR responsibilities.

Benefits of attending

This course will help delegates understand what falls within the legal scope of a

disability and how best to manage employees with disabilities in a way which is

supportive and compliant. This will increase managers’ confidence and improve

engagement amongst employees with disabilities. It will increase delegates’

knowledge, not only in respect of the legal risks and obligations, but also on

how they can best support employees and generally become a more inclusive

employer.
