This is an informal networking event for local employers over light refreshments.
With the 2014 universal right-to-request flexible working becoming more commonly known about and taken up within workplaces, employers face a new set of challenges managing different working arrangements. Older workers are a group who might want to work flexibly to reflect changing demands on their time.
The University of Southampton recently conducted research with employers to better understand the challenges and benefits of managing a flexible workforce. We would like to share this with you, and reflect on the logistical issues as well as successes of managing flexible working.
The evening will provide a useful opportunity to have a frank and informative exchange of views on how employers can make the most out of this new set of expectations.
