Course Description
This course is being delivered online, and a recording will be available for up to 30 days.
Every HR issue, whether staff related or an external complaint, must be handled sensitively and quickly if it is not to take focus away from the children, teaching and learning.
This course will support you to lead investigations in your own school or group of schools with confidence.
You will learn strategies to support:
- Meeting with all involved parties to establish facts
- Collating evidence and developing a chronology
- Leading and recording witness interviews
- Managing difficult conversations
- Developing action plans to improve
- Moving staff towards capability procedures
This course is suitable for:
School leaders - Headteachers, Deputy head teachers and SLT including SBLs. Primary, Secondary, Special and APs suitable.

When will I receive the event joining instructions?
The final information, including how to join the live event, will be emailed to you directly from the NAHT Professional Development team at least 5 days before and again the day before the event date. Unless you advise us otherwise, we will assume that you have received the joining instructions. A refund will not be given for non-attendance on the grounds of joining instructions not being received, it is the attendee’s responsibility to ensure they have the information before the event.
Cancellation fees:
Within 31 working days - 25% charge
Within 14 working days - 50% charge
Within 7 working days - 75% charge
Within 3 working days - 100% charge
