As part of our Autumn programming we are putting together an expert panel for an in- person event on the management of menopause and peri- menopause, and the impact and considerations on women&#x27;s working and financial lives. This event is for every woman, whatever stage you are at in your menopause journey. We will be sharing practical, empowering tips, guidance and signposting to help you to understand more and seek help .Join us on the 12th October for what promises to be a real and raw panel discussion aimed at exploring the challenges and fears so many women face before, during and after the menopause._____________The menopause is diagnosed when a woman hasn’t menstruated in 12 consecutive months and usually begins between the ages of 45 and 55, with the average age of the menopause in the UK being 51. It can happen earlier – doctors refer to early menopause, before the age of 45, as premature ovarian insufficiency (POI). At the other end of the scale, some women carry on menstruating until their 60s.Millions of women go through menopause every year, with the majority experiencing symptoms that can be severe and have a negative impact on everyday life._____________A recent report published by Vitality shows that:50% of women in Great Britain aged 45-65 years go through menopause without consulting a medical professional50% of women had confirmed that menopause impacted negatively on their home life90% of women say their workplaces offer NO help for menopausal women workersOf the firms that do offer support: 5% offer free advice, 3% have policies in place, and 3% of line managers are given relevant training73% of women reported having hot flushes at work63% said they regularly felt tired or drowsy at work29% have lost self-confidence because of memory difficulties_____________This talk promises to be an inspirational and practical discussion aimed at exploring the challenges and action needed to support those going through menopause. As a Rising Star for both Spear&#x27;s 500 and Investment Week and nominee in the 2022 Women in Investment awards, she is recognised as a welcomed voice in a traditionally male arena.The Dura Society has recently been shortlisted for the Spear&#x27;s Private Client Innovation Award .
