Understanding the process from issuing a tender and making a recommendation for contract award is essential learning to ensure organisations get best value from their spend. This course is ideal for procurement professionals and anyone involved in tendering activities. The content is presented by an experienced trainer, supported by analysis of relevant case studies. Training notes are provided for reference.On completion of the course, attendees will have a robust technical understanding of the tendering process and the practical skills required to manage it.Topics▪ The Invitation to Tender (ITT) document: its purpose, key points, risks and issues ▪ Tender Evaluation: forming an evaluation panel, assessing tender commercial and quality criteria, scoring methods, post tender clarifications and negotiation ▪ Tender Return Period: clarifications, supplier meetings, receiving and opening tenders, security and confidentiality, electronic systems ▪ Contract award: recording the outcome, preparing a recommendation report, standstill periods, supplier de-briefing ▪ Legal status ▪ Public accountabilityThis course forms part of a suite of procurement workshops delivered by the Scotland Excel Academy as part of the Scottish Government's Procurement and Commercial Training Framework.
