Celebrate comic books and comic book culture at the Forum Centre on Saturday 27 April, with guests announced so far including comic book artists Lew Stringer, Nigel Parkinson and David Leach. Also in attendance will be special guests from the animation world – Jean Flynn from Cosgrove Hall and Halcyone Studios, and Peter Saunders from Mackinnon Saunders in Altrincham.Family attractions include a Harry Potter Set, stuntman and actor Oliver Wilson, and Bumblebee. In the library there will be a Lego club and green screen experience with a myriad of special effects and souvenir photos to take away. Whether a comic book collector or a fan of movies and superheroes, there will be a variety of stalls where visitors can browse comic books, graphic novels, or pick up the latest movie merchandise.Cosplayers are welcome and there will be competitions for adults and children, both judged by a guest panel. Special effects make-up will be on hand courtesy of the make-up artistry students from The Manchester College.Advance tickets are also available from leisure reception at the Forum or call 0161 935 4020 to pay by card.Interested stallholders should contact info@wowcomix.com.
