Manchester Raspberry Jam 39

Since the Raspberry Pi came out, Raspberry Jam events have sprung up all over the world. Manchester's Madlab hosted the very first one in June 2012, run by founder Ben Nuttall.Raspberry Jams are family friendly events for people of all ages and abilities. Come along if you want to learn how to get started with a Pi, work on a project, demo something you've made, or just to collaborate and chat among other Pi users.

<H2><SPAN>Activities for October 2016</SPAN></H2>
<H3>Main Workshop - Motors</H3>
<P>Learn the basics of Raspberry Pi robotics. Having a go at controlling motors using the Raspberry Pi's GPIO and the Python GPIO library. <EM>This is an introductory workshop suitable for all attendees.</EM></P>
<H3>Second Workshop - ARM Assembly 2</H3>
<P>Continuing on from our last Jam, where we created a "Hello, World!" program in ARM assembly, we will look at how to create the standard conditional statements and loops in assembly, and create various programs using them. <EM>You need to have attended the previous ARM workshop to participate in this one.</EM><BR></P>

<P>The event starts at 10:30am.</P>

<H2>What you'll need to bring</H2>
<P>All equipment is provided for the Workshops.</P>
<P>For the main room, we have a limited number of Pis available, so please bring your Pi and its power supply if you have one. (The Pi uses a USB phone charger, so it's useful to bring one even if you wish to borrow a Pi)</P>
<P>We have plenty of monitors, keyboards and mice, so you don't need to bring these</P>
<P>Food and drinks are provided throughout the day</P>
<H2>The Venue</H2>
<P>Digital Innovation is a new initiative from MMU, situated in a refurbished engineering shed on the MMU city centre campus.</P>
<P>Digital Innovations new home The Shed will become an innovation venue for the whole of Manchester's technology sector. It will be a place where you can encounter new technologies and new thinking, develop new relationships and business opportunities and above all, it will be a place where you can find new ideas.</P>
