The training is mandatory for private hire / hackney carriage driver licence holders only and failure to attend one of the arranged training sessions will result in the suspension of their drivers licence.
The training is not available to those looking to acquire a licence. We do not run the sessions for all members of the public and the training places are limited for drivers who are currently licensed with the Authority, only.
The purpose of the training is to improve public safety, by ensuring that licence holders are aware of important issues related to their occupation as a public transport provider and also ensuring they understand their responsibilities.
Access to a smartphone is required, to enable those attending to participate in an interactive quiz covering the subjects above.
Attendees will be required to sign in when they arrive and must stay for the full session.
On completion of the training, all attendees will be emailed a certificate as evidence of attendance.
