Join the Defence and Security Accelerator(DASA) and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) as they launch a new competition.

The Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) is launching a new competition to develop a semi-autonomous reconnaissance and survey system to help troops safely and stealthily advance into enemy territory over water. The military need to be able to cross obstacles such as rivers, streams, bogs and other so-called ‘wet gaps’. Currently, the only way of identifying suitable crossing points is to send Royal Engineer reconnaissance troops to survey both banks of the river – exposing them to danger which also risks compromising the operation by signalling interest in that location to the enemy.DASA, on behalf of Dstl, is seeking ideas from industry and academia to create a new remote system capable of surveying potential crossing sites by gathering data about the banks on both sides of the water. The dial-in event will provide the overview to the competition, with the competition team, including the technical partners and military advisors, available to take questions in an open forum.The dial-in will be followed by the opportunity to have a 1-to-1 session with the competition team between 1300-1500. Nine slots are available and can be booked via this <a href="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/map-the-gap-1-to-1-tickets-86118230947" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Eventbrite page</a>. <h3>Please note:</h3><ul><li>If you attended the physical launch event which took place 4 February 2020, you do not need to attend this event. </li><li>Registration for the dial-in event will close Friday 7 February 2020 at 6pm. </li></ul><ul><li>Further event details will be sent in due course. </li></ul><ul><li>The information you provide will be retained by the Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) to contact you in regards to this event, and any future DASA communications that may be relevant to you. Dstl will also have access to this information for this event. Please indicate on the registration if this is something you do not wish to do.</li><li>If the event is oversubscribed, DASA reserves the right to limit the number of spaces per organisation. By registering, you are agreeing to your email address being shared with other people who have registered from your organisation to co-ordinate attendance.
