margomool will have your head bopping and contemplating its place in the universe. Described by Line of Best Fit as ‘convention-smashing’, the vocalist / producer / facilitator blurs boundaries between genres, gender roles, audience and performer. Since landing in the London jazz-ish scene in 2020, margo has featured in mixes by the likes of Jamz Supernova and Emma-Jean Thackray, and has even found fans across the globe through the British Council’s Selector Radio. They have taken their solo act and band project across the UK to stages such as Love Supreme, and bring the inclusive FYE Cypher jam along with them, making the audience part of the performance. Catch margomool and their live band at their debut Norwich show ahead their next release - Aspetta - a two track single, journeying from an Italian folk lament to the fire of funk-rock with a sprinkle of breakbeat for good measure. margo will have support from i.am.afiya; a singer/songwriter and self-taught instrumentalist from South London, playing both guitar and piano. Her music is genre bending, described as “indie-emo-soul” by The Line of Best Fit. Some of her biggest influences include King Krule, Lianne La Havas, Paramore and Hiatus Kaiyote to name a few.
