MariaDB ColumnStore is an analytical database built on MariaDB. It can be used as a single node or as a cluster, where data is distributed using native MariaDB replication. Failover is supported via shared storage. S3 storage is supported, with a local disk cache.To make SQL queries on huge quantities of data extremely fast, MariaDB ColumnStore uses massive workload parallelisation:<ul><li>A query execution is split over multiple nodes of the cluster;</li><li>Each node further splits its tasks by assigning small chunks to a pre-allocated thread pool;</li><li>Data storage is columnar, and chunks of a column can be split over multiple files.</li></ul>With MariaDB ColumnStore, you can take advantage of most MariaDB features. For example you can use the same backup tools, performance metrics, configuration files, and SQL dialect.
