Marianne McGregor

Linlithgow Jazz hold monthly events, on the first Saturday of the month, in Queen Margaret Hall in Linlithgow (53 Blackness Rd, Linlithgow EH49 7JA). Performances are primarily listening events although sometimes a small number of dancers can be accommodated. Performances normally consist of 2 sets of approximately 1 hour each, with a 30 minute interval between, The hall is unlicensed so attendees are advised to bring their own drinks and nibbles (not forgetting glasses, plates etc too!) Tea and coffee is available at the interval for a small donation

Marianne McGregor is a prominent new voice in the Scottish Jazz Scene. Highly acclaimed ‘Best Vocalist’ at the Scottish Jazz Awards 2021, McGregor continues to gain recognition for her powerful voice, improvising and original songs.Taking inspiration from her great jazz influencers, Marianne has a tone comparable to the likes of Amy Winehouse, an Ella-like freedom towards improvisation and captures phrasing and emotion with the power of Billie Holiday. Marianne is joined by Uri Stav on guitar, Laurie Moore on double bass, Greg Irons on drums and Josie Girgis on alto sax
