About this talk
Our ocean is getting busier. Offshore renewable energy, fishing activity, shipping, cabling and more, are adding increased pressure onto already degraded marine ecosystems. The ocean also needs space to recover. Marine spatial planning is a way of balancing different uses of the sea in order to achieve environmental, social and economic objectives. Chloe, Policy and Advocacy Manager at the Marine Conservation Society, will present on our advocacy work in this area, as we ask for better marine spatial planning in order to protect the UK’s marine environment.
