Overview

Learn to showcase, pitch, and sell with confidence hosted by Support The Makers with guest Alice from Melt Me Real Good.

Market-Ready Masterclass: Create a Stall That Sells (Without the Hard Pitch)

The Market-Ready Masterclass is all about helping makers feel confident and fully prepared for market day.
In this hands-on session, you’ll learn how to design an inviting, eye-catching table layout, understand what shoppers look for when browsing, and create natural moments for conversation (no hard selling required).

Alice will also walk you through the practical essentials that often get overlooked but make a big difference on the day - from setting up your card reader and collecting newsletter signups, to preparing simple social media posts, and knowing exactly what to bring with you so your space is ready and stress-free.

Ideal for both new and seasoned makers, this workshop gives you the tools, clarity and confidence to showcase your products beautifully, connect with customers with ease, and set yourself up for a smooth and successful market experience.

Meet Your Hosts

Alice – Melt Me Real Good

Alice is the founder of the award-winning business Melt Me Real Good, which began in 2020 as a kitchen-top activity and has since grown into a thriving, well-loved brand.
She is also one of the organiser's behind the popular Wylde Thistle Events hosting artisan markets across the west coast of Scotland. With years of experience both selling and hosting, Alice brings a wealth of practical, real-world insight grounded in what actually works on market day.

Carmen – Support The Makers & Porty Festival

Carmen is the founder of Support The Makers and co-founder of Porty Festival. What began in 2019 as a one-off Christmas market in Portobello has now grown into regular, much-loved markets across Edinburgh and the Lothians.
She works with iconic venues including St Giles Cathedral, Portobello Town Hall, Lind & Lime Gin Distillery, George Watson’s College and Haddington Corn Exchange. Carmen brings deep experience in curating markets, supporting makers and understanding what leads to a successful setup and customer experience.

Why Attend?

Alice and Carmen bring over a decade of combined market-hosting and maker support experience. They’ve seen firsthand what makes a stall stand out - and what quietly holds makers back.

In this workshop, they’ll share their practical, tried-and-tested guidance on:

  • creating a table layout that attracts browsers
  • choosing display elements that actually help sell your products
  • preparing your card reader & payment setup
  • simple ways to collect newsletter signups
  • what to post on social media before & during your market
  • what to bring with you to feel organised and ready
  • how to set up your space so your morning feels smooth, not rushed
  • starting natural conversations that lead to sales - without ever using a hard pitch

Expect friendly support, actionable ideas, and the confidence to show up feeling truly market-ready.

Hot drinks and cookies will be available.
