Overview

Join us for a relaxed, social cycle exploring Margate’s vibrant rise up reidency street art, starting from Margate Station.

Join us for a relaxed, social cycle exploring Margate’s vibrant rise up reidency street art, starting from Margate Station and riding through the town to discover murals that celebrate creativity, identity and community. The murals areraising awareness of ocean conservation and the issues caused by plastic in and near our oceans. From documenting ocean biodiversity to plastic hazards and ocean species, we will explore what they mean.

As we move through the streets and along the coast, we’ll also also take time to notice the natural world around us — sea air, urban wildlife and the role that green and blue spaces play in supporting our wellbeing. From coastal ecosystems to how public art can shape healthier, more connected places, this ride links science, creativity and community in motion.

This LGBTQ+ History Month, we’re celebrating innovation not just in labs, but in how we express ourselves, build belonging and reclaim public space with colour, stories and joy.

Easy pace, all welcome. Come ride, connect and experience Margate in a whole new way.
Move with pride. Move with purpose. Move together withMaroonAdventures.

This ride is not insured, you will be attending at your own risk.

About Maroon Adventures and Tamara.

Maroon Adventures, a community-led walking, cycling group and wellbeing practice rooted in connection to land, culture and collective care. Walking and Cycling has taken me across the UK and beyond from coastal paths and national trails to mountains in Europe, Peru, and Japan and back home to Kent, where I now focus on creating inclusive, welcoming walking spaces for others.

I walk and cycle in sections across the North Downs Way, The Kent Downs, The Viking Coastal Trail, and coastal routes around Thanet. My sessions are shaped by a belief that movement, nature and shared stories can support mental wellbeing, confidence and belonging, especially for those who may feel excluded from traditional outdoor spaces.

Alongside leading groups, I’m a Cycle UK ride leader, North Downs Way Ambassador, a Community Connector in Thanet and currently serving as Deputy Mayor of Margate, roles that inform my commitment to inclusive, place-based wellbeing and community care.

Whether you’re new to walking or already love the outdoors, you’ll be welcomed at your own pace. These sessions are about showing up, breathing deeply and moving together with space for conversation, quiet moments and joy along the way.
