ESERO-UK, also known as the UK Space Education and Resource Office, aims to use the context of space to open doors for young people by delivering engaging, world-class teaching in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

The next annual mission to Mars with ESA, the UK Space Agency, UK STEM Ambassadors and international guests is on the horizon!

Mars Day 2023 is an exciting free virtual event adventure for everyone, presented by the UK Space Education Office (ESERO-UK) at STEM Learning and in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the UK Space Agency.***LATEST NEWS FROM MISSION CONTROL******TIM PEAKE WILL BE BEAMING IN LIVE TO MARS HOUR AT 11.00***Our last mission to Mars was in March 2022 when an audience crew of over 100,000 zoomed in for an array of live link-ups, talks and careers discussions from national and international space VIPs.Register for your place on the next Mars Day mission and prepare to land on Mars on Tuesday 7 March. The flight plan and programme for the day has been launched - check out the ‘Sessions &amp; Stars’ below.You can now plan your own Mars Day mission - touchdown on favourite topics, book for a session or two, take part in Mars Hour activities or join us for the whole day.Check in with your class or your whole school, friends, family, or embark on a solo mission.For one starry day, this next Mars Day mission will:<ul><li>Host more speaker stars than ever before from ESA, NASA’s Perseverance team and the UK Space Agency</li></ul><ul><li>Introduce a new element to the programme - Guest Planet of the Year - with the imminent mission to Jupiter and its icy moons in April </li></ul><ul><li>Run classroom activities in Mars Hour at 11:00 with free activities and resources to download</li></ul><ul><li>Star hidden heroes of the UK space industry revealing their journeys from studying STEM subjects to participating in space missions here on Earth</li></ul><ul><li>Run more hands-on activity sessions for Primary Schools to beam in to</li></ul><ul><li>Explore Mars over the week with partners offering out-of-this-world events and sessions for schools during Mars Week.</li></ul>When registering you will be able to book your sessions, get updates of new Mars Hour activities to download, and what to visit in Mars Week.

SESSIONS &amp; STARSOnce again Mars Day has an out-of-this world programme of live link-ups, talks and fireside chats with space stars for everyone, updating us on current and future Mars missions, Jupiter and beyond.Secondary schools have their own sessions starring hidden heroes of the UK space industry, hearing about their journeys from studying STEM subjects to participating in space missions here on Earth. Primary schools will be able to book Mars Day space-themed activity sessions to run with their classes on the day.Check out the starry sessions below and plan your own mission for the day. RUN ACTIVITIES ON MARSFor our inaugural Mars Hour on Mars Day 2022, thousands of students joined in with space-themed activities in classrooms alongside fellow schools nationwide.As part of the Mars Day 23 mission, we’re inviting schools once again to host space-themed activities in classrooms at 11.00 on Tuesday 7 March. Run a full Mars Hour of activities or join for part of the hour, whatever works for you and your crew.
